The Trans Awareness Project was developed, coordinated, and implemented by student staff at the University of Minnesota Gender and Sexuality Center for Queer and Trans Life with support from full time office staff and the Transgender Commission Leadership Team.

​Kirsten Eid Co-Founder,
Director

Kirsten is a Minnesota local who earned her bachelor's degree in social work from Valparaiso University in 2012. She currently attends the University of Minnesota and is pursuing a master's degree in social work with a concentration in community practice. With her current internship at the University of Minnesota's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Ally Programs Office, she has served as a Co-Founder and as the Executive Director of the Trans* Awareness Project. Kirsten has a passion for social justice and plans to continue her work with LGBTQIA communities in the future.

​Devyn Goetsch Co-Founder,
Design And Content Production

Devyn Goetsch is a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota who studies Computer Science and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. Additionally, she works at both the University of Minnesota Libraries and the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Ally Programs Office.  She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Transgender Commission.  Her work with trans* communities has mostly been focused on awareness, education, and creating more inclusive policies and practices throughout the University of Minnesota.

Aysha is a Saint Paul native and a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota. Aysha is studying Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature as well as Studies in Cinema and Media Culture. Photography, film, writing and music are just a few of the contexts Aysha uses to explore the world around her.
